Legent Bourbon
About the Spirit
Legent Bourbon stands as a remarkable fusion of East meets West, where the longstanding tradition of Kentucky bourbon meets the meticulous craftsmanship of Japanese whiskey making. Distilled by Master Distiller Fred Noe at the esteemed Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, Legent Bourbon emerges from a lineage of bourbon expertise, renowned for its rich and smooth texture accentuated by a distinctive hint of spice. The flavor profile is further deepened by oak and vanilla undertones, with layers of caramel and dried fruit culminating in a sweet, satisfying finish, and subtly enhanced by herbal and floral notes that introduce a unique complexity to the palate. What sets Legent Bourbon apart is not just its flavor but also its innovative production process. It undergoes a unique aging process, utilizing an array of cask types—including wine and sherry casks—to imbue the bourbon with an unparalleled depth and variety of flavors. This process is overseen by Shinji Fukuyo, the revered fifth Chief Blender at Suntory in Japan, whose expertise contributes to the spirit's distinctive character. The combination of Jim Beam high-rye bourbon with more mature, aged bourbon, and a touch of sherry cask-aged bourbon results in a complex, layered drinking experience. Additionally, Legent Bourbon benefits from the lithiated-filtered water of Kentucky, enhancing its flavor profile, and is distilled using both column and pot stills to ensure a perfect balance of traditional boldness and innovative subtlety. Bottled at 47% ABV, Legent Bourbon offers a unique tasting experience that resonates with bourbon aficionados and newcomers alike, inviting them on a transcultural journey of whiskey enjoyment.
