Legent

The Distillery Story

Legent Distillery, established in 2019, is a unique collaboration between Fred Noe, a 7th-generation Master Distiller from the renowned Jim Beam family, and Shinji Fukuyo, Chief Blender at Suntory, Japan's pioneering whisky maker. Together, they have crafted a groundbreaking bourbon by fusing the meticulous precision of Japanese blending with the bold flavors of traditional Kentucky distillation. At the heart of Legent Distillery's operation is a custom-engineered, 2,500-gallon copper pot still, designed to meticulously distill high-rye bourbon. This precise distillation process, combined with a unique secondary aging in wine and sherry casks, imbues their spirits with unparalleled complexity and depth. The distillery's innovative approach extends to experimenting with various barrels and oak types, including American white oak, to forge a bourbon that stands out for its unique flavor profile. What truly sets Legent apart is its dedication to blending different bourbon recipes and cask finishes, highlighting their commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional bourbon making. By marrying the heritage of Kentucky distillation with the artisanal craftsmanship of Japanese whisky blending, Legent Distillery has quickly distinguished itself as a producer of distinct, smooth, and complex spirits, capturing the attention of connoisseurs and casual enthusiasts alike.
