Widow Jane Distillery, located in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, was founded by Daniel Preston and Vince Oleson. Established during the craft distilling boom, Widow Jane has quickly gained recognition for its innovative approach and spirit quality. The distillery is named after the Widow Jane limestone mine in Rosendale, New York, from which it sources its mineral-rich water, a key element in its production process. Widow Jane is known for its use of non-GMO ingredients and its focus on terroir, a concept more commonly associated with wine. The distillery sources grains locally and employs custom-designed serial continuous stills, developed by aerospace engineer-turned-founder Daniel Preston, to highlight the subtleties of each ingredient. The distillery’s portfolio includes popular spirits like its 10-Year Straight Bourbon, Decadence Bourbon finished in maple syrup barrels, and the recently released 12-Year Bourbon at 99 proof. Under the leadership of Lisa Wicker, president and head distiller, Widow Jane continues to innovate while maintaining its craft ethos.
