The distillery is named after the Widow Jane limestone mine in Rosendale, New York, from which it sources its mineral-rich water, a key element in its production process. Widow Jane is known for its use of non-GMO ingredients and its focus on terroir, a concept more commonly associated with wine. The distillery sources grains locally and employs custom-designed serial continuous stills, developed by aerospace engineer-turned-founder Daniel Preston, to highlight the subtleties of each ingredient. The distillery’s portfolio includes popular spirits like its 10-Year Straight Bourbon, Decadence Bourbon finished in maple syrup barrels, and the recently released 12-Year Bourbon at 99 proof.
