RD1 Distillery, officially launched in 2020, proudly carries the torch of Lexington’s rich bourbon-making heritage. Named for "Registered Distillery One," it honors the legacy of Ashland Distillery, originally established in 1865, which later became the legendary William Tarr Distillery–the first federally registered distillery in Lexington. RD1's mission? To celebrate bourbon's storied past while writing its next chapter. What sets RD1 apart is its commitment to craftsmanship and creativity. Using small-batch methods, RD1 offers a portfolio of award-winning bourbons that push the boundaries of traditional distilling. Their innovative approach includes unique finishing techniques, such as their Double Finished Bourbon. This whiskey is aged in French oak barrels and further enhanced with maple stave infusion, resulting in a true "dessert-like sipper." This bottle is perfect neat, but equally shines in an Old Fashioned. With 66 awards earned in 2023 alone and distribution rapidly expanding across the U.S., RD1’s dedication to quality and bold flavor has solidified its place among bourbon lovers.
