Moon Drops Distillery, located in Fortville, Indiana, is a grain-to-glass operation dedicated to crafting high-quality spirits with a local touch. Founded by Mark Pressley in 2021, the distillery sources corn, barley, and wheat from nearby farmers, milling the grains onsite before fermentation and distillation. This commitment to local sourcing and sustainability extends to repurposing spent grain as livestock feed, creating a full-circle process that supports the community. The distillery’s centerpiece is a 14-foot still, affectionately named “Big Momma,” with plans to expand to a 34-foot continuous still in the future. Moon Drops produces a range of spirits, including bourbon, vodka, rum, and its signature Bonfire Blends Moonshine. The Bonfire Blends, inspired by Pressley’s backyard gatherings, feature unique flavors like Lemon Shake-Up, Peppermint, and Apple, offering a creative twist on traditional moonshine. While Moon Drops’ own bourbon is aging in a 2,000-barrel rickhouse, the distillery currently sources bourbon from other providers to meet demand. The facility also produces alcohol for other distilleries, showcasing its versatility and craftsmanship.
