Frey Ranch Distillery is a family-owned operation rooted in over 165 years of farming tradition in Fallon, Nevada. Located about 70 miles east of Reno, the ranch has been home to the Frey family since the 1850s. Frey Ranch is one of the few distilleries in the world to grow 100% of the grains used in their award-winning whiskeys, embodying a true farm-to-glass philosophy. Co-founded by Colby and Ashley Frey, the distillery reflects a blend of innovation and tradition. The Freys began experimenting with whiskey recipes in 2006 under a federal experimental license, paving the way for craft distilling in Nevada by helping establish the state’s first craft distilling laws in 2013. This pioneering spirit is matched by their commitment to quality and sustainability, exemplified by their hands-on approach to farming and distilling. Frey Ranch apart is committed to a complete grain-to-glass process. The entire whiskey-making operation—including growing, malting, fermenting, distilling, and aging—occurs on-site.
