The Distillery Story

Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co., based in Fort Worth, Texas, is a trailblazing distillery known for its innovative approach to whiskey production. Founded in 2010 by Troy Robertson and Leonard Firestone, the distillery was born from a shared vision to create exceptional spirits that reflect the character of Texas. Their operation began in a 1920s warehouse in Fort Worth, where they developed their signature products, including TX Blended Whiskey and TX Straight Bourbon. What sets Firestone & Robertson apart is their use of a proprietary Texas-born yeast strain, “Brazos,” discovered on a pecan nut at a local ranch. This unique yeast contributes a distinct flavor profile to their bourbon, featuring notes of roasted sweetness, cinnamon, and dark fruit. Their commitment to innovation extends to their production methods, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. In 2017, the distillery expanded to Whiskey Ranch, a state-of-the-art facility located on a historic golf course in southeast Fort Worth. This 112-acre site includes a 45-foot copper column still, large-scale fermentation tanks, and event spaces, making it the largest whiskey distillery west of the Mississippi. Firestone & Robertson’s TX Whiskey line has earned numerous accolades, including Best American Craft Whiskey, and continues to set the standard for Texas-made spirits.
