The Distillery Story

Located in Troy, Alabama, Conecuh Ridge Distillery is a destination steeped in history and flavor. Set to open its doors in May 2024, this will be Alabama’s first legal bourbon whiskey distillery and the new home of Clyde May’s famed Alabama Style Whiskey—a legacy that started with Clyde May himself, a World War II hero-turned-renowned moonshiner. The distillery marks the return of Clyde May’s legacy to its roots after years of production outside Alabama. Known for its dedication to craftsmanship, Conecuh Ridge Distillery will produce a variety of spirits, including Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey, Straight Bourbon, Special Reserve Bourbon, Cask Strength, and Straight Rye Whiskey. Every bottle tells a story of rich tradition and meticulous attention to quality. The facility offers more than just premium spirits—it’s an all-encompassing experience. Visitors can enjoy tasting rooms, tours that highlight the legendary Clyde 240 moonshine still, a barrelhouse, a bottling plant, and even a restaurant and bar.
