Unlike the standard industry practice of seasoning barrel staves for six months, Buzzard’s Roost seasons their oak for an impressive 18 months. They also use proprietary toast profiles, developed in partnership with Independent Stave Company, which coax out unique flavors from the wood. Their commitment to using Char #1 barrels, which are lightly charred for just 15 seconds, ensures an enhanced interaction between the whiskey and the toasted oak layers. The result?
